LT&C presently participates at the Global Green Destinations Days in Nijmegen, the Netherlands (see programme for September 28), which are performed by our member and partner, Green Destinations. We like to use this occasion also to make our members, particularly those who have authored an LT&C-Example, aware that for the 4th time, the Sustainable Destinations Global Top 100 competition is organized by ten leading sustainable tourism organizations and networks.
The Top 100 aims to highlight success stories and exchange good practices to make all destinations more sustainable and better for local communities and travelers. As a response to increasing local resistance against disruptive mass tourism (overtourism), Green Destinations has chosen the following theme for this year’s competition:
“TOURISM TO BENEFIT LOCAL COMMUNITIES”
